Even the games that did see the light of day were heavily trimmed down from how they were originally envisioned. But there have been almost as many canceled additions to the franchise, with a total of five games getting shelved over the years for various reasons.
Remarkably, every game in the series (with the exception of spin-off Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel) was met with critical acclaim. Fallout has had a long and illustrious history, with eight games under its belt spanning back to 1997.
